Japanese myths is very close to us!
This is todays topic.First of all, let me find something related to Japanese mythology that is around us.
I tried to search works on the subject of the myth.
1. BOOKS&COMICS
-General Book
The first come up, general books which argued about the myth.
Many such a books were wrote about the myths and origin of it.
This is common to know the myth, these books, there are various types.
For example: Japanese mythology you need to know (知っておきたい日本の神話)
-Picture Book
Its are picture books to learn about the myth for children.
The deformed characters of myth, have formed a story clearly and focus on part of the myth.
These are easy to under stand, and we can know characters of it.
For example: Japan are born(にほんたんじょう by Kishida Eriko & Wanatabe Manabu)
-Comic(As an example: Megamiki/女神記 by Kirino Nastuki)
In this comic, one of heroine meet to Izanami at hades.
There are drawn Izanami's trouble, live and death.
This used myth as subject.
2. GAMES
-Okami(大神)
This game is one of the famous game as it was used myth as subject.
Many character in the myth appear in it.
In addition to it, there have appeared many Japanese fairy tale character.
-Persona4 (ペルソナ4)
In this title, heroes and heroines who is high school students fight to enemy with Japanese gods or other gods or angels and devils.
And basis of the story, Japannese myth has become a model.
3. ANIMATION
-Spirited Away(千と千尋の神隠し)
This animation was made by Studio Ghibli and it is famous animation all of the world.
In the basis of the story was a myth and lore story, such a unique view of the world, and Japanese gods appeared.
As you can see, many works are affected by Japanese Myth.
The myth has very deeply story. And there are some part maybe difficult for us.
But, it does not stop to fascinates us.
One of the reason, I think, characters in the myth is very like a human.
They were angry, cry, enjoy, talking, loving....
As if they are like a big family, I thought.
I'm going to guess more that reason through next 9 weeks.
